Re: Project Down?

I can't get to anything under Device Manager/Results Status or Device Statistics. I keep getting an error for that as well as when I try to send BOINC results. Hhmmm...

Re: Project Down?

Yup -- seems the project has been offline for reporting results for the past several hours.

Perhaps the maintenance update of earlier this week turned out to be an 'unmaintenence'...

sad Re: Project Down?

Most of the BOINC projects tend not to be 'real time' regarding unplanned outages. I'm guessing this is the case here. Not that big a deal for me, I simply divert cycles on the local workstation farm from Grid to SETI, Einstein, Climate and Climate BBC.

Over the past several months, Grid has been very reliable, I guess it was time for it to have an unplanned outage. Every other project I'm doing cycles for has had at least one outage over a day in the past 6 months except Grid, so it seems this time, Grid has the short straw.

It seems around 4:20 PM central time things just stopped.
Why no update?

Re: Project Down?

Well, the 'no update' scenario can happen any number of ways. I think the Grid folks are in the UK (not sure of this) in which case, the problem happened during a likely admin 'sleep cycle'. Or, they might be in scramble mode to fix things and too busy to post a system down notice. Or, they might be doing a behavioral test on the user community to see if we go into SETI BOINC project user 'attack mode' as anxiety soars.
