I don't know how to link to a WU in this project, I hope this works:
----------------------------------------HFCC_t1_01839301_TrkB_0002 I crunched it in quite normal time, it got validated, I claimed my usual credits, I got some granted, only this time they were ridiculously far away from what's to be expected. Just in case the linking doesn't work: Project Name: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Created: 22.08.09 Name: HFCC_t1_01839301_TrkB_0002 Minimum Quorum: 1 Replication: 1 Result Name App Version Number Status Sent Time Time Due / Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit HFCC_ t1_ 01839301_ TrkB_ 0002_ 0-- 610 Valid 24.08.09 18:12:47 25.08.09 11:31:23 2.69 66.1 / 3.9 I usually get about the credits as claimed, +/- some wee percent. What went so much wrong here? |

Please click on the result name and post the quorum detail (e.g. interest in the wingman credit). Also click in that view on both the valid links to compare the result logs. Hopefully you see something there of difference... a restart or something.

Hopefully you see something there of difference... a restart or something. As you can see in the Quorum, there was no wingman. There was as well no restart of my computer, it's usually running 24/7, with only a few restarts per month. The stderr is as follows: Result Name: HFCC_ t1_ 01839301_ TrkB_ 0002_ 0-- Edith askes: How do I link to this? I have no comparative log on hand for a completed HFCC job, but the beginning section and end section look odd... the end part suggests a start is attempted of docking 29 and then it departs. Maybe an other member can chip in if logs are normally looking like that or you have another valid result on hand to see how things are recorded in there.
----------------------------------------We have had rare cases reported of jobs restarting towards the end and only the last attempt counting, but here not even that. Not even sure this has been happening for HFCC.

Here's one other, with normal credits: <core_client_version>6.4.5</core_client_version> This is the WU data: Project Name: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Created: 22.08.09 Name: HFCC_t1_01830634_TrkB_0000 Minimum Quorum: 1 Replication: 1 Result Name App Version Number Status Sent Time Time Due / Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit HFCC_ t1_ 01830634_ TrkB_ 0000_ 0-- 610 Valid 24.08.09 14:28:45 25.08.09 11:31:23 3.00 73.6 / 71.9 Edit: There has to be a way to simply link to this information, without flooding the board with this long quotes and codes. How can I do this? ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Saenger at Aug 25, 2009 8:54:19 PM] |

Here is a similar HFCC Result Log for a slower computer that was granted 79.6 BOINC credits.

I don't think there is anything unusual in that log (if you compare it with the normal ones). And, for the numbering of the dockings: it starts from "Docking number 0" (the 1st one), so "Docking number 28" is the 29th one, and so "dockings already completed: 29" is correct. |

You're of course right. If a tech has spare time, maybe the grand analyzer can be thrown at it as to what may have happened. We would not want results, zero redundant, self validate and miss out any dockings from the library.

Any news from the techies?
----------------------------------------The WU is not any longer in my account, and I really don't care about those credits, I just want to be sure that what went wrong will not do so in the future. |

No word yet. That said it's such a rarely reported occurrence that it will not have risen above the 'to do horizon'.
----------------------------------------as for Edith asks: How do I link to this? This information is in no way any secret, it's usually linkable in every BOINC project, it's essentially in such circumstances to do so, to compare with others, to get some pattern. Until recently it was in fact secret as included the device and owner name and that something not shared at WCG. You can open a result log, then post the link here which makes it visible only to signed in members, but as you noticed the result disappears about 4 days after validation. That's why if you go into the quorum detail (click on WU name), you now can see all result logs (but as you noted, most HFCC is zero redundancy, unless there is an extra copy for repair or verification) and compare yourself to speed the fault finding process. Copy / Paste the log and snipping it for endless repeating portions is fine and provides permanent viewing before the results plus logs get removed from live viewing.
