Re: Issue with server feeder

Hello Knreed.

thank you for your message, but you stated that we were able to download new units, but we weren't.

Nevermind, it is resolved so important is that we are back and running.

Thank you for your great support.

Re: Issue with server feeder

Randzo, your Dec.10 reported issue was resolved on the 10th. Today's issue is was a new case, and as is 'normal' after an outage, servers are -Extremely- busy, so something is getting between a stone and a hard place, i.e. it could have been coincidence you saw the same thing today as yesterday. AFAIC, all device caches are restocked [here in the Italian outback], all uploads complete, all Ready to Reports cleared.

knreed, one more applause [for not throwing the towel ;]

Re: Issue with server feeder [RESOLVED]

Hello,

I have marked the thread as resolved.

P.S.
Yesterdays issue was described here:
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35980

marked as resolved by Knreed on 3:25 PM
I reported it at 6:26 PM so the issue probably reoccurred.
Server overload after outage is completely normal, but in that case WCG server are used to report something like sorry the server is overloaded deffering scheduler update.

As I said before I'm no complaining I'm working on support for many years :-)

You are correct - I apologize for my misstatement. I'll correct my post now.

As part of the filesystem filling up, the servers experienced a sharp rise in avg load on the servers. We have some scripts in place that monitor for that increase in load and will halt both distribution of new work and the ability to upload files when the load has reached a certain level. This is was caused the halt in workunit distribution.
