Re: Free ACS Webinar

This Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM EDT, there will be another free American Chemical Society (ACS) webinar, that may be of interest to the WCG Community:

Accelerating CNS Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Ligand Discovery

"PET ligands play important roles in drug discovery relating to the central nervous system. However, the discovery efforts of PET ligands have suffered from high attrition rates due to a demanding list of required attributes and a lack of guiding principles in ligand design and prioritization. Join Lei Zhang as he lays out a set of preferred parameters for CNS PET ligand design which has been derived from a systematic analysis of a PET ligand database. These preferred parameters have been applied prospectively applied to a number of programs within Pfizer, yielding successful PET ligands with reduced resources and timelines."

This is Session 6 of the Drug Design and Delivery Symposium

More info and a link to register for the webinar is available here .

Re: Free ACS Webinar

This announcement is for those of you that are really into drugs (development of course). Chemical and Engineering News will be presenting its second annual virtual symposium highlighting groundbreaking research in drug discovery, chemical synthesis, informatics and drug development on Wednesday, September 16. This event will run from 8:00 AM EDT - 6:00 PM EDT.

Registration is free at http://engage.vevent.com/index.jsp?eid=782&seid=1319&code=CENEmail4 Since this symposium is for professionals, and I am retired, I put retired for my occupation, and "000-000-0000" for my business phone number and it accepted that. There is also a place to upload your resume.

"Register now for free, then log in on September 16 to visit the virtual conference and trade show. It's like being there but without the cost or hassle of travel! Listen to 1-2 key talks or attend a stream of presentations throughout the day.

-Participate in live Q&A sessions
-“Walk the floor” in our virtual exhibition hall
-Live-chat with peers and vendors in the booth
-Download valuable resources
-Re-watch your favorite talks
There will also be a virtual career fair."

"This year's keynote and event speakers are driving R&D inside leading commercial and academic institutions, including Merck, Pfizer, Genentech, Editas Medicine, BIND Therapeutics, Syros, The Scripps Research Institute , and many more. Among the many themes to be covered are:

-Organic synthesis for novel drugs
-Personalized and precision medicine
-Structure-based drug design
-Business and collaborative strategies
-Gene regulation in cancer
-Informatics in the R&D environment
-Genome editing technologies"

Delivery Options to Support Dose Escalation in Preclinical Toxicology and Pharmacodynamic Activity Studies

"Adjusting the dose of a medication does not always have the anticipated effect. At times, 'inactive ingredients' in drug formulations don’t always remain inactive, particularly when high doses are used to boost drug exposure. Join Evan Thackaberry as he shares how to develop an understanding of acceptable drug delivery approaches to support preclinical dose escalation "

This is Session 9 of the Drug Design and Delivery Symposium
